Camino Fisteria

There are many Pilgrims who continue their Pilgrimage to the Atlantic Ocean after they have embraced the Apostle Santiago and obtained their Compostela. They end their journey at Cape Fisterra on the Costa Da Morte (Coast of Death), where pagans believed the sun died and the worlds of the dead and the living became closer. Prayers and offer rings would be made to appease the gods. This leg entitles you to the ‘Fisterrana’, which you obtain at the Fisterra Town Hall on arrival. This document certifies that you have reached the End of the World. In Muxia legend has it that the Virgin arrived in a boat to encourage Santiago Apóstol when he preached in Hispania. In this beautiful town you will find the Sanctuary of Santa María de la Barc, and here you will be able to obtain your Muxiana, certifying that you have reached the Sanctuary.
